800 Quran memorizers who include 514 men and 286 women have received Quran memorization certificates in Turkey

The country’s Dar al-Ifta organized the event, which was attended by religious officials and a large number of people.

Addressing the ceremony, Ali Erbas, president of Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), described the Holy Quran as the greatest blessing of God for humanity.

He said the Holy Book must be the guidance for everyone in life and its life-giving teachings should be comprehended and implemented.

Erbas also hailed the growing enthusiasm and interest in Quran recitation and memorization in the country.

Earlier this year, an official with Diyanet had said that nearly 12,000 people in Turkey had learned the Quran by heart in 2021 and received Quran memorization certificates.
