Albarakah Charity Trust ACT has awarded best students in 2019 MSCE and staff at Mama Khadija girls’ academy.
Speaking during the ceremony director of Administration and finance at ACT Saeed Witness urged the teachers at the Academy to continue doing a commendable job of equipping learners with different knowledge and skills to be productive leaders.
Witness said parents should encourage their children to work hard in their studies rather than forcing them into early marriages which contribute to poverty.
“My advice to the girls is that they should concentrate on education to achieve their goals,” said Witness
In his remarks head teacher for Mama Khadija Academy Andrew Livanga thanked his fellow staff for the amazing work which they render to sharpen girls at the school.
Livanga said 2018 to 2019 results were not good as compared to the previous ones due to change of examinations system which MANEB introduced of writing examinations in form 4 after abolishing JCE.
He said that affected performance of the students but was happy that the Academy has managed to get 98 percent pass rate and 26 girls stand a chance of enrolling in universities
The best student Anisa Hassan from Balaka scored 15 points.
