President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has launched Affordable Input Program AIP through which 4.2 farming households are expected to be buying fertilizer at 4495 kwacha.
Chakwera toured pavilions which showcased agricultural products at Pirimiti primary school in Jali, Zomba
In his speech Chakwera advised the beneficiaries to utilise properly the inputs.
He said his government will reinstate the extension workers because “it was a mistake to remove them from the areas.”
The president said those who will be found engaging in corruption in the program will be arrested.
Chakwera warned people from other countries who might want to disturb the program
He asked the private sector to partner with government in the implementation of the program
In her speech chief Chikowi asked the president to help in resolving the chieftaincy wrangle of TA Mwambo
She said the area has no TA because members of the loyal family obtained injunction at court
