Africa centre for disease control CDC has said African countries that have not reported circulation of corona virus variant first identified in South Africa should proceed with the roll out of AstraZeneca vaccine
Africa CDC director John Nkengasong told a news conference that those countries should accelerate their preparedness to introduce all vaccines that have received emergency use authorization
Nkongasong said consideration should be given to the effectiveness of the vaccine against the variant corona virus
Astrazeneca vaccine made headlines this week after South Africa announced that it was halting its roll out because study showed that it was less effective in preventing symptoms of the variant covid-19
