Ministry of health says less than 20 thousand doses of the third batch of covid-19 vaccine doses have expired.

Ministry of health director of health and social services Dr Queen Dube has said this in an interview with radio Islam as the vaccine expired yesterday.

Dr Dube said out of the 102 thousand doses that the country received in March 80 thousand doses have been administered to Malawians.

She said the country still has enough doses as the first and second batches of the vaccine will expire in July.

“Malawi received the first batch of 360,000 from covax, the second from India government and the third batch from African Union,”  Dr Dube

Dr Dube has assured Malawians that the expired vaccines have been discarded.
