CFTC fines companies over unfair trading

Competition and Fair Trading Commission CFTC has made orders of fines and refunds totaling to k11.89 million to companies for uncompetitive business and unfair trading conduct.

CFTC has said this during a press briefing aimed at updating the media on recent decisions by the commission.

Speaking during the function CFTC acting executive director Apoche Itimu said the decisions were made during its 61st meeting on 28th March 2022.

“The commission adjusted over a total of 69 cases, which included 55 cases of unfair trading practices and 14 cases of anti-competitive business conduct,” Itimu

Among others she mentioned Van Guard Life Assurance Company, Old Mutual, Peoples Trading centre, king steel limited, central poultry limited, Sincerest Creameries LTD and 15 private schools as some of the companies.
