Con-court abruptly suspends elections case

Constitutional court suddenly suspended the cross examination of president Peter Mutharika’s second and last witness Bob Chimkango.

Judge Michael Tembo suspended the cross examination for some minutes but when the case resumed he did not tell the nation what happened.

According to one of the lawyers in the case Charles Mhango it is normal in legal profession for the judges to do such suspension.

The cross examination started after lawyer of Mutharika finished re-examining his first witness Ben Phiri who is the director of elections in Democratic Progressive Party.

Phiri was cross examined by lawyers of UTM and MCP political parties that are first and second petitioners respectively in elections case.
