Former Vice President Submits Nomination Papers

Former vice president Dr Cassim Chilumpha who is president of Tikonze Peoples Movement with his running mate miss Zione Akuziona Matumba has presented his nomination papers to Malawi Electoral Commission.

Unveiling the running mate at COMESA Hall in Blantyre Dr Chilumpha said Matumba is a politician who contested in 2014 tripartite elections on MP ticket in Mangochi central constituency.

Speaking after MEC approved his nomination papers Chilumpha said once voted into power Tikonze Peoples Movement will promote all sectors of development such as agriculture, health and water.

Chilumpha called for peaceful and issue based campaign and denounced insults as well as violence during the campaign period.

Meanwhile, president Professor Peter Mutharika is expected to present his nomination papers on Friday 8 February 2019.
