Government Says HRDC, MCP, UTM Recruit Thugs to Burn Markets

Government has said Human Rights Defenders Coalition HRDC, Malawi Congress party MCP and UTM have agreed to recruit thugs to burn markets across the country.

This was said during a press briefing which Ministry of Information and communication technology organised in Lilongwe

According to Minister of information Mark Botomani the plan was approved on Tuesday this week in Lilongwe at a meeting convened by HRDC, MCP and UTM officials in order to create chaos in the country.

“Government will not allow that barbaric act to happen saying all security agencies are alert,” said Botomani

He has warned HRDC, MCP and UTM to stop their machinations to topple a legally constituted government.

Responding UTM has urged president Mutharika and his cabinet to desist from fabricating false stories and attempting to instill fear in people.

In a statement, UTM publicity secretary Dr Joseph Chidanti Malunga says they shall continue to push back against the illegitimate leadership through lawful means.
