Hijab Taskforce Condemns Abusing Learners Over Hijab

Hijab Taskforce has urged Muslim parents to be proactive in ensuring that Muslim girls are not denied the right to wear hijab in schools.

A member of the task force Sheikh Ahmad Chienda made the call amid reports that some Muslim girls have been asked to take off their hijab when taking photos for MANEB  primary school leaving certificate examinations.

Speaking to radio islam, Sheikh Chienda said “the constitution of the country has allowed Muslim women to wear their hijab adding that right cannot be asked for.”

He has meanwhile urged the parents to  approach relevant authorities if their children are forced to take off the hijab.

Government through Ministry of Education, Science and Technology permitted Hijab in all public and grant aided primary and secondary schools.
