Anti-corruption bureau has arrested Zameer Krim, police commissioner Innocent Botoman and senior superintend Grant Kachingwe in relation to 2.7 billion kwacha police food rations scam.

ACB spokesperson, Egrita Ndala, has confirmed the arrest to Radio Islam.

“Zameer is expected to answer charges of theft, uttering false documents and acquiring proceeds of crime. Grant Kachingwe is likely to be charged with forging documents in order to help pioneer Investments obtain a bank loan. Commissioner Botoman is likely to be charged with uttering a false document, abuse of office and acquiring proceeds of crime,” explained Ndala

She further said the suspects committed offences which are contrary to section 271 as read with section 278 of the penal code, section 42 (1)(c) of the financial crimes act and section 360 of the penal code 25B (1) of the corrupt practices act.

Meanwhile, the trio will appear before court after the bureau has recorded statements from them.
