Eye of the child says Malawi must hold civic education and public awareness campaigns on human trafficking law to prevent the malpractice in 2017.

Executive director of Eye of the Child Maxwell Matewere said in 2016 many Malawians especially people with albinism, girls and children were trafficked to other countries such as South Africa and Moxambique.

“It was pleasing to note that Malawi had tried to curb the malpractice because most of the human trafficking cases were reported to police by citixens,” expressed Matewere.

He added that the warm heart of Africa needs to enforce human trafficking law that was adopted in 2014.
