Chancellor College Student Imposter Arrested

Chancellor College student imposter Emmanuel Zosiyirana John is jailed to 3 years imprisonment with hard labour for personating or perjury.

Eastern region prosecution inspector superintendent Solomoni Gomezgani Mchawi told Zomba chief resident magistrate Paul Chiotcha that John falsely registered himself with University of Malawi as Goodson Kangazi a holder of Malawi school certificate of education with 12 points and had qualified for Bachelor’s of social science gender studies.

Mchawi said John was together with Kangazi at Zomba Catholic secondary school and got 27 points.

“After some time the two met and the convict convinces Kangazi to give him his certificate and offer a letter from Chancellor College after Kangazi had opted not to go to Chancellor College and reserved a place. Just in his first semester the convict went to Mulunguzi court to change his name from Kangazi to Emmanuel Z John a move that surprised the assistant registrar for academics who alerted the police and the culprit was arrested,” explained Mchawi

The convict pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Emmanuel Zosiyirana John comes from Nsuluma village Traditional Authority Njema in Mulanje district.
