Cholera outbreak in Nsanje

More Cholera cases have been recorder in Nsanje as the number has reached 11.

Nsanje District Health Officer Dr. Alexander Chijuwa confirmed that the number of cholera cases have increased from four cases to 11 since Sunday.

“The disease is now becoming alarming as the cases are coming TA Ndamela which borders Mozambique,” said Dr Chijuwa.

He said five of the people who have been diagnosed with cholera are quarantined at Ndamela Health Facility where they are receiving treatment.

Dr Chijuwa acknowledged fears that the situation may get worse as movement of people cannot be controlled.
