Government calls off recruitment of teachers through interviews

Teaching Service Commission has called-off recruitment of secondary school teachers through interviews.

In its public notice the commission says the cancellation comes as a result of a directive from ministry of Education that no teacher from any public University or college should go for interviews before recruitment.

“The colleges and universities include Domasi College of Education,
Bunda College, Mzuzu University, Chancellor College and The Polytechnic,” reads the statement

Teaching Service Commission further says teachers from all public universities and colleges will be taken on board this coming school term with no conditions attached.

“Final list of prospective teachers will be released by 10th September, 2017,” adds the statement

However, recruitment of teachers from private institutions will be done by Ministry through teaching service commission in January, 2018.

In conclusion the commission has thanked teachers for their perseverance and understanding all these three years they were made to wait.
