Malawi holds International Itakaaf

Promotion of religious and secular education has been described as a key to development of muslim communities in the country.

This has been said during an International Itakaaf which is currently underway in Nkhotakota district.

The gathering has drawn together Muslims from different countries in Africa where among other things they are discussing religious issues that would help to uplift Islam.

Addressing the gathering on behalf of the state president, Vice President of the Democratic Progressive Party in the central Region Dr Uladi Mussa said “Muslims should attain both secular and religious education for them to effectively take part in development activities.”

Dr Mussa has therefore urged all Muslim parents to send their children to madraasa and secular schools.
