Malawi President Criticizes Critics On Women Empowerment

President Professor Peter Mutharika has criticized his critics on women empowerment.

Mutharika made the remarks during the graduation of University of Malawi at Bingu Convention Centre in Lilongwe.

His criticism comes as various groups of people in the country have been criticizing him since last week for reducing the number of female Ministers from 4 to three.

“Let me appeal to all Malawians to promote empowerment of women and the youth. This cannot be done in a day. The private sector should appoint women. Even leaders that criticize government do not have women in their organisations. Let us change our mindset,” explained Mutharika.

The president urged the graduating students to think and dream big.

He advised institutions of higher education to promote transparency and accountability.
