MAM & ICJF woo voters to register

Muslim Association of Malawi and Islamic Commission for Justice and Freedom ICJF have encouraged people in Makalani village Traditional Authority Somba in Blantyre to register for next year’s tripartite elections.

ICJF chief commissioner Abdurrahman Ajasi made the encouragement after a football and netball tournament in the area aimed at wooing people to register in the ongoing exercise.

Ajasi said people ought to understand their role in a democratic country and the importance of participating in the electoral process.

“8 football teams battled it out in the 250,000 tournaments and Angoni stars emerged the winners in the football bonanza hence going away with 35, 000 and Makalani Netball team received 14, 000,” Ajasi explained

In his remarks captain of the team, Danis Ganiza expressed happiness for being crowned winners and urged people to register in the voter registration excise.

Later ICJF distributed some assorted items and wrappers to over 20 elderly in the area.
