Mangochi Islamic Youth Movement Donates Qurans & Wheel Chair

Mangochi Islamic Youth Movement has donated wheel chair to a child with disability and Qurans in TA Katuli, Mangochi district.

Speaking during a hand over ceremony of a wheel chair to Allie Pias (17) in the area of group village headman Kalanje, Chairperson of the movement, Abdul Hameed Kasosi said it has always been their wish to assist the needy as Islam encourages the heart of giving and sharing with others.

Kasosi said they consulted the specialist before buying the wheel chair.

“One of the villagers approached us appealing for the assistance to Pias,” Kasosi said.

He applauded the members for contributing towards the wheel chair.

Magret Wailesi a relative said was Pias abandoned by his father because of the disability.

“Pius is the first born child in the family of four and has been raised by his grandparents,” Wailesi disclosed.

Andrew Katemba district officer for Malawi Council for the Handicapped commended the Movement for donating the wheel chair.

Jack Abdul grandfather of Pias thanked Mangochi Islamic Youth Movement for assisting his grandson.
