Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development has approved 46 suppliers in this year’s Farm Input Subsidy Program (FISP).
Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, the Ministry’s spokesperson Osborn Tsoka said they are through with the beneficiary identification exercise.
Tsoka said FISP program will be launched on 11 October at Mtaya primary school in Balaka.
He said 1 million ultra-poor people will benefit in this year’s FISP.
“The number of beneficiaries has increased from 900, 000 last year,” Tsoka said
He added that 42 billion kwacha was allocated for the program in the 151 billion kwacha budget for the agriculture Ministry.
