Saudi Arabia based International Organisation for Relief, Welfare and Development has distributed relief items to people who were affected by heavy rains in Balaka district, Malawi.

Director of the organisation which is under Muslim World League, Salaha Ribadiri said victims of heavy rains in Mangochi and Salima districts will also benefit from the relief which is valued at K99 million.

“International Organisation for Relief, Welfare and Development is very committed to assist vulnerable people in Malawi,” Ribadiri said.

El-bably further said some of the items being distributed are maize flour, plastic containers, cooking oil, rice, sugar and beans.

Since the onset of this year’s rainy season many people and properties have been affected.
