Soldier Murdered

Malawi Defence Force MDF soldier has been murdered in Dowa district.

Public relations officer for Dowa police station sergeant Richard Kaponda said the deceased Sydney Njelema 37 was based at Mvera support Battalion.

Kaponda said the incident happened at Chiwere village and the body was found on a path to the barracks.

“Postmortem revealed that he died of severe head injuries secondary to assault caused by a blunt object,” Kaponda said

The deceased Sydney Njelema hailed from Maliwa village TA Chilikumwendo in Dedza.
