Vice president’s office in “Make Malawi Work” campaign

Chief Director of Reforms in the office of Vice President Nwazi Mnthambala, has asked Malawians to leave politics aside and concentrate on developing their areas for the country to move forward.

Mnthambala made the call at Dowa boma during a-day long orientation for Dowa District full council members on Public Service Reform Agenda entitled” Make Malawi Work”.

She said development has been derailed in most of the areas due to politics.

Orientation and continuous training on mindset change at all levels will help her office fulfil its vision of efficient, high quality and timely delivery of public service,” expressed Mnthambala

In her remarks Dowa District Commissioner, Fannie Msimuko, asked chiefs, MPs and councilors in the district to pass the message on the reforms to their subjects.

Msimuko lamented that the concept of power to people has enabled some village heads to come up with ghost names in Public Works Program and pointing fingers at the council when the initiative does not achieve its objectives.

“I appeal to people in the district and the country as a whole to change their mind set on the reforms saying everyone is part of them and not government alone,” pleaded Msimuko

Speaking at the same function Senior Chief Msakambewa asked politicians to stop politicizing development projects for the reforms to be implemented in the interest of all.

“Malawi has failed to fulfil the vision 2020 because of neglecting key areas,” noted Chief Msakambewa.

Public Service Reforms Program was launched in February, 2015.
