Zam-zam Foundation Donates To Victims Of Heavy Rains

Zam-zam Foundation has donated maize seeds to over 200 families whose maize fields were washed away by heavy rains in the area of senior chief Nyambi, Machinga district.

Speaking to Radio Islam before the donation at Lisale village, Zamzam programs Manager Ajil Kalitendele said chiefs in the area approached the organization for help after many families were left destitute.

“ZamZam decided to donate the maize seeds for the affected families to replant before rainy season ends,” Kalitendere said

On the other hand, the programs Manager advised people in the area of senior chief Nyambi to plant more trees and avoid farming close to river banks.

Speaking on behalf of his subjects, senior chief Nyambi commended Zamzam Foundation for the timely assistance saying it will help people to have food in the area.

Senior chief Nyambi echoed Kalitendele’s sentiments on tree planting adding “people in the area will be affected by heavy rains if they continue cutting down trees carelessly.”

He therefore urged his subjects to plant trees at household level during this rainy season.
