Zomba district council abolishes illegal villages

Zomba district council has said it is going to abolish villages which have been created without the council’s knowledge.

This was said by the district commissioner Emmanuel Bambe amid reports that some Traditional Authorities in the district are creating villages.

Bambe said previously there were also similar cases and the council managed to abolish them.

He added that such behavior disturbs development because the council makes plans based on the number of villages which are on records.
