Malawi not ready to repatriate citizens from South Africa
Government has said not ready to repatriate Malawians from South Africa.
This follows a plea by some Malawians living in South Africa to government to repatriate them due to the challenges they are facing because of the lockdown.
In an interview with Radio Islam Minister of Information Mark Botomani, said “government will continue to monitor the situation in South Africa.”
The Malawians started complaining after South Africa extended the lock down with two weeks.
South Africa imposed the lockdown in order to control the spreading of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Malawi had been repatriating Malawians from South Africa to rescue them from xenophobia
