Speaking with radio Islam President of MCTU Luther Mambala said K35, 000 per month which government has increased from K25, 000 is not enough.

Mambala made the remarks after Minister of Finance announced the new minimum wage during the presentation of the 2019 to 2020 budget in parliament.

“MCTU has been meeting with government and employers to increase the minimum wage to K75 000 per month. The discussions ended on 45, 000 kwacha minimum wage,” Mambala said

However, Mambala said MCTU has praised government for increasing the tax base from K35 000 to K45000.
