Muslim World League donates relief items to hunger victims

Muslim World League has donated relief items to over 2000 hunger stricken households in Chikwawa districts.

Speaking after making the donation, Deputy Director of Muslim World League in Africa, Mussa Mukhize, said Chikwawa is one of the districts which faces hunger crisis every year.

Mukhize said his organization will continue assisting the needy in the country as they have put aside 1 billion kwacha for the exercise.

” Muslim World League has been helping Malawians for many years through a request by the government,” says Mukhize

In her remarks, Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Nkombedzi, Abida Mia, thanked the organization for the quick response of her call to come and assist the needy in the area.

Mia said as a Member of Parliament of the area put at heart the welfare of people hence the donation.

She further said she is planning to buy other relief items to make sure that everyone affected in her constituency has benefited.

Over 70% households have been affected by hunger in Chikwawa Nkombedzi constituency.
