Muslims Celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr With Patients & Prisoners

Mudzayankhanji Muslim Sisters has donated items worth seven hundred thousand kwacha to Zomba Central Hospital, as part of Eid Ul Fitr Cerebrations.

Speaking during the handover ceremony wife of TA Kalembo in Balaka who represented the group said it is always good to cheer and share with the sick the little people have during Eid cerebrations.

“Patients in various wards at the hospital received sugar, rice, soap and other assorted items,” Kalembo said

Receiving the donation Senior Nurse in charge of Zomba Central Hospital, Fikire Singano commended Mudzayankhanji Muslim Sisters for the initiative saying the donation will help the patients.

In a related story, Muslim Women Organization (MWO) Zomba chapter also cheered up patients at Zomba Central Hospital.

Speaking to Radio Islam after the donation, the Organization’s chairlady, Sister Amina Milanzi said “we thought of visiting the hospital after noting the challenges guardians at the referral hospital encounter.”

Appreciating the gesture, the beneficiaries concurred with one of the matrons at the facility Alinafe Chamveka saying the items will help them to compliment the meal the facility provides.

Muslim Women Organisation MWO Thyolo chapter has donated assorted items to patients at Chiradzulu district hospital.

Speaking to radio Islam, MWO chairlady for Thyolo district Patuma Jossam said they decided to donate to Chiradzulu hospital to alleviate the suffering that patients face in hospitals.

“MWO members from Thyolo contributed cash amounting to 250 thousand kwacha towards the donation of items such as soap, maize flour and soya pieces as part of celebrating eid,” Jossam said

In his remarks, acting matron for Chiradzulu District hospital Fredrick Chimteka commended the women for the donation.

Chimteka said “it’s the first time that a group of people has donated to all wards at the hospital.”

He has meanwhile asked well wishers to consider donating winter clothes for children in the nursery and kangaroo wards.

Muslim women organization has distributed various items to patients and staff at Balaka district hospital as one way of celebrating eid.

Speaking after the distribution exercise district secretary Sakina Nembo said it is within the teachings of Islam to share with others during eid celebrations

Commenting administrator at Balaka district hospital Linely Mwale applauded the women for the initiative saying “it is very important to patients as they need such support.”

Mwale who represented the district health officer appealed for more assistance to patients and the hospital

In a related development, AQSA donated items to sick people admitted at Mangochi district hospital.

Speaking to radio Islam inspector of AQSA madrassa sheikh Rajab Binuli said the items worth 1.8 million kwacha were shared to 320 patients in various wards.

In her remarks Thandizo Baleti a nursing officer at Mangochi district hospital said they are glad that people are considering patients.

Meanwhile, Mponela Radio Islam listeners have given out food items and clothes among others to Muslims at Bzyanzi prison in Dowa district.

Speaking during the event chairlady of the group Mariam Kanthunzi said they thought of visiting the prison to encourage the inmates to remember Allah and continue being Muslims.

In his remarks chairman of Muslim Association of Malawi in Dowa district Alhaj Imran Kabichi encouraged radio Islam listeners to continue doing charity work in the country.

Chaplain of Bzyanzi prison Uthman Kapoloma expressed gratitude to Mponela radio Islam listeners saying the inmates lack encouragement on their religion.

One of the inmates Umali James thanked the listeners saying they have done great thing which no Muslim has ever done to them since he was imprisoned.
