Mutharika asks UNIMA to strive for quality education

President Prof Peter Mutharika has asked university managements to take advantage of the delinking of the Universities of Malawi for the growth of the autonomous universities.

Mutharika made the remarks during the 3rd UNIMA graduation at the Chancellor collage great hall in Zomba.

He said time has come for universities to take serious responsibility that will see the growth and creation of variety in university education.

In his remarks pro vice chancellor of the University of Malawi Prof Al-Mtenje said UNIMA has taken strides in academic and research in order to develop the country.

He cited the approval of the research ethics committee at the chancellor college, embracing the open distance and E-learning mode of education delivery, and introduction of new programs in most of the universities which he said some are in operational while others will be implemented in the near future.
