Mutharika’s Lawyer Cross examines MCP 3rd Witness in Elections Case

Lawyer of president Mutharika is cross examining third witness of Malawi Congress Party MCP in elections case.

Frank Mbeta began cross examining Peter Lackson Chimangeni on Thursday morning after lawyer of Malawi Electoral Commission Kalekeni Kaphale finished examining the same witness Wednesday afternoon.

During the cross examination lawyer of Chimangeni Pempho Likongwe objected questioning the witness on opinions but Mbeta counter-argued therefore the court rejected Likongwe’s objection.

However, the judges advised Mbeta to cross examine Chimangeni on issues in his sworn statements.

The court blocked Mbeta from asking Chimangeni issues that can put him security at risk.
