Chakwera promises a new Malawi

State president Dr Lazarus Chakwera has promised that he will be a servant of all Malawians and creating a government that serves the people.

Dr Chakwera was speaking in Lilongwe soon after being sworn in as president of the country.

“I will be a steward of millions of Malawians and will work at restoring faith in new generations by ensuring Malawi is corrupt free, non-tribalism and free from nepotism.”

Dr Chakwera said he is grateful for the honour which God has given him to lead the country and assured opposition followers to give him a chance saying his victory is a win for all Malawians.

Dr Chakwera has also urged those celebrating his victory to celebrate with humanness.

The MCP leader becomes Malawi’s 6th President after triumphing in the June 23 Fresh Presidential polls after following the nullification of the 2019 polls by the court due to massive irregularities.
