MHRC compiles Report on Judicial Institutions’ Efficiency Inquiry

Malawi Human Rights Commission MHRC says is compiling a report on its findings following an enquiry on the effectiveness and efficiency of judicial institutions in Malawi.

This followed complaints regarding numerous systematic challenges facing the judiciary which limit access to justice among many Malawians.

In an interview with Radio Islam MHRC civic rights protection Officer Peter Chisi said the exercise which was conducted in Lilongwe, Mzimba and Mangochi was a success as people gave out their views on the matter.

Chisi said so far some courts have started submitting feedback on the matter but MHRC is still waiting to hear from more.

He however denied to reveal some of the findings from the courts saying that Malawians will hear from the report.
