Ministry warns of floods

Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development has warned of floods especially in the southern region this week.

In a statement secretary of the Ministry Grey Nyandule Phiri says the floods are expected to be experienced from 20^th to 23^rd January.

“A flood alert has been forecasted based on rainfall forecast from department of climate change and meteorological services and water levels from national hydrological monitoring network installed across the country,” explains Nyandule Phiri

He adds the floods are expected in the southern region where high rainfall has been forecasted.

Therefore Ruo, Mwanza and Shire Rivers are expected to flood hence advising the public to avoid loss of human life and property.
