Malawians To Experience Blackouts Weekend-EGENCO
Malawians should expect persistent blackouts this weekend as Electricity Generation Company EGENCO will completely shut down Nkula A and B
Management of EGENCO says during the outage the company wants to replace Nkula B dislodged intake screens
It says the work will require complete shutdown and lowering of head pond to create safe working environment for the team that will install trash screens
This means 135.1 megawatts of electricity will not be available for supply to customers on Saturday and Sunday
EGENCO says as rainy season is fast approaching repairing of intake trash screens is necessary to prevent excessive clogging of the screens thereby avoiding frequent shut down of Nkula machines
