FYF hands over irrigation scheme to Balaka

Find Your Feet FYF has handed over Kakhobwe irrigation scheme to people of group village headman Kakhobwe in Balaka district.

Speaking during the handover ceremony executive director of FYF Chimwemwe Soko advised the community to make full use of the scheme to eradicate hunger and poverty.

Soko said the people now have chance to change their lives with surplus harvests for consumption and sale.

“The 25.8 million kwacha scheme was established in a two year integrated resilience building project with funding from world food program,” says Soko

In his remarks Balaka district commissioner Emmanuel Bambe said the council will monitor and support the scheme to combat food insecurity which has heavily affected the district the past ten years.

Member of Parliament for Balaka North Anthony Ngalande commended Find Your Feet for bringing development to his constituency.

Ngalande called for more support the constituency because there are a lot of areas that need intervention.
