IHAM, PAC conduct surgery camps in Malawi hospitals

Islamic Health Association of Malawi IHAM has assisted 78 people with medical surgeries through its medical camps that it conducted in Lilongwe.

The camps were held from 22nd to 26th May at Kamuzu Central Hospital and Bwaila Fistula Center in conjunction with Physicians Across Continents.

In an interview following completion of the camps, IHAM Executive Director, Hajj Dyton said unlike in the past, this year could not accommodate many people due to the complexity of the surgeries that were being undertaken.

While expressing satisfaction with the camps, Dyton revealed plans of holding another camp later this year.

He also disclosed that the organization has spent over 100 million kwacha for the whole process.

The camps focused on urology, general surgeries and fistula repairs.
