Islamic Information Bureau trains couples
Islamic Information Bureau (IIB) says divorce is increasing among couples due to lack of refresher session on roles and responsibilities of couples in marriage.
This has been said during couples’ refresher workshop which took place at Islamic Information Bureau offices in Limbe.
Speaking after the function, Senior Counselor at IIB Sheikh Muhammad Uthman said the function was organized to strengthen Islamic marriages by reminding them of their roles regarding marriages.
Sheikh Uthman said people need to know that marriage is a lifetime contract hence couples must behave well towards each other for unity and coexistence to prevail.
“Marriage is a blessing from Allah therefore advising all Muslim couples in the country to take their responsibilities seriously in order to get rewards from Allah,” Sheikh Uthman
Speaking after the function, the participants hailed the counseling department of IIB for the session saying it was needed.
Arif Aman said “the function is very important hence asking the department to organize such events regularly to remind couples on their responsibilities in a bid to strengthen marriages.”
Another participant Khadija Majaja Mludi concurs with Aman saying the refresher sessions need to be conducted on monthly basis to reach out to more couples.
Mludi says marriages are facing hiccups hence such functions are paramount.
