Karonga and Lilongwe HRDC members quit

A group of concerned citizens from Karonga and Lilongwe have defected from Human Rights Defenders Coalition.

Announcing the defection at a press brifing treasurer of HRDC Karonga chapter Chifundo Kapesa said they have left the grouping because HRDC has been endorsing political parties.

Kapesa said, “the coalition is not fighting for people’s rights and working independently.”

In an interview with HRDC Chairperson Gift Trapence rejected the group saying they are not members of the coalition.
