Ministry introduces Reformed Hardship Support Scheme for Teachers

Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has introduced reformed hardship support scheme RHSS through which teachers working in remotest areas will be receiving 34,000 kwacha every month

The Ministry says currently a total number of 1,537 public primary schools and 12, 624 primary school teachers are benefiting from the scheme.

The secretary for education says this scheme is not attached to a teachers’ salary but remitted into their mobile money accounts

Therefore, teachers who have been transferred from a remote to a non-remote school will no longer be entitled to this scheme
