Muslim sisters hold fundraising dinner

Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Atupele Muluxi has underscored the importance of promoting girl child education saying is paramount to the country’s social economic development.

Muluxi said this during a fund raising dinner organized by Muslim Sister Youth Organisation MUSYO held at Malawi Sun Hotel in Blantyre.

Muluxi who was the guest of honour commended the excellent work that MUSYO is doing in promoting girl child education.

“My advice to all girls in the country is to work extra hard in their studies.” said Muluxi

In her remarks, Chairlady for MUSYO Mainatu Mussa, said she was very much impressed with the response Muslim community has shown towards the function.

“The dinner was organized at short notice but a number of individuals and organizations have come up and support the program,” said Mussa

The dinner was organized to realize money amounting to K10 million in order to reach out to over one hundred girl students in various part of the country.
