Muslim Women Encouraged In Cervical Cancer Screening

Muslim women have been encouraged to participate in cervical cancer screening campaign.

Nurse midwife at Malombe Health centre Benard Mataka made the remarks during Islamic gathering at Malombe in the area of Traditional Authority Chowe in Mangochi.

Mataka said women in the area are taking part in the campaign.

“Since the campaign started in April seven women were found with cervical cancer and referred to Mangochi district hospital for treatment,” Mataka said

Government and its stakeholders have been introducing various campaigns aimed at dealing with cervical cancer in the country.
