Mutharika warns DPP officials against splitting UDF alliance

President Professor Peter Mutharika has warned some high ranking officials of Democratic Progressive Party DPP against splitting the alliance with UDF.

Mutharika said this during the launch of Shire valley transformation program in Chikwawa district.

He said the alliance is a long lasting coalition hence asking DPP officials to stop jealousy and backbiting.

Mutharika ordered security agencies to demonstrations organized by MCP on Thursday.

“Enough is enough I will not allow four people to destroy this country,” stressed Mutharika

He criticized amnesty international and some local organizations for condemning DPP and police over the arrest of HRDC leaders.

Speaking during the launch country manager for African Development Bank Eyerusalemu Fakisa said the Shire valley transformation program is a timely intervention to increase agriculture productivity.

In his remarks Minister of agriculture, irrigation and water development Kondwani Nankhumwa appealed to Mutharika to establish National farmers’ day.

Nankhumwa who is vice president of Democratic Progressive Party DPP for the Southern region asked members of the party to stop jealousy and backbiting.

Nankhumwa said some DPP leaders were spreading lying that he had joined the opposition political parties.

Commenting, Political scientist, Enerst Thindwa who is Chancellor College political lecturer has asked political parties and HRDC to respect the constitution.
