Police Arrests Resort Manager Over Owner’s Murder

Police in Mzuzu have arrested a manager of Lake View Resort in connection to the murder of owner of the resort.

Public relations officer for Northern Region Police superintendent Peter Kalaya says the suspect is Gift Mtambo and the deceased is Allan Michael Fay aged 58.

Kalaya says Fay, a British national who was staying at the resort with his family was found dead in the early hours of Thursday June 27 2019 one hundred metres from the resort.

Preliminary police investigations reveal that Fay left the resort at around 8 pm on Wednesday to escort his manager who lives within the area on foot.

“It has been learnt that after realizing that her husband was taking long the deceased’s wife Tina Kamanga and other employees of the resort formed a search party and started looking for him,” Kalaya said

He was found in the early hours of Thursday dumped in the bush some metres from the road with deep cuts in the head and face.

The assailants went away with his two mobile phones.

Fay’s body has been taken to Mzuzu central hospital for postmortem.
