Ministry of education, science and technology has announced that all schools in the country will be re-opened on 13th July 2020.
According a statement signed by chairperson of national task force on re-reopening of schools Professor Lewis Dzimbiri, the decision to re-open schools amidst COVID 19 pandemic is aimed at ensuring that the right to education and right to life are respected.
Professor Dzimbiri says consultations with various stakeholders have already started and memorandum has been dispatched to learning institutions for their views on the safe re-opening of schools.
The taskforce has assured the general public that it is working in a systematic and fact based way to ensure that the decision is informed by best public health data and global best practices that ensure safe re-opening.
Professor Dzimbiri said, “We will welcome all input fro the safe re-opening of schools.”
