Stakeholders Discuss Multi-sect oral Approach to Education

Government has asked Malawians to work together in promoting adult learning and education in the country.

The remarks were made by Director of Child Development Affairs McKnight Kalanda during the opening of a round table meeting focusing on multi sect oral approach to adult education and learning.

Kalanda stressed that a literate society is essential for the development of all sectors in the country.

“The round table meeting is important since it provides an opportunity to expand national dialogue on adult learning and education,” said Kalanda

He then thanked DVV International for supporting finalization of national literacy and education policy and requested all partners to support its implementation.

In his remarks director of DVV International Christoph Jost said “the round-table meeting is critical to raise awareness on adult learning and education to Malawians and the policy.”

Malawi will commemorate this year’s international literacy day under the theme literacy and multilingualism on 14th September at Nsenjere primary school in Nkhota-kota.
