Tanzania President Visits Malawi

Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli and Madam Janet Magufuli have arrived in the country for a two day state visit.
The plane carrying Magufuli touched down at Kamuzu International Airport KIA in Lilongwe around past ten in the morning, where the Tanzanian leader inspected a guard of honour mounted by 2nd Battalion of Malawi Defence Force MDF.

President Magufuli was welcomed by state president Arthur Peter Mutharika and Madam Getrude Mutharika.

Joyful Madam Magufuli was seen dancing to some of the traditional dances which were on display at the airport.

He proceeded to Parliament building in Lilongwe.

Later this afternoon, the two presidents will hold bilateral talks on thematic areas aimed at strengthening cordial relationship between the two countries.

The bilateral talks will be preceded by a private discussion between president Mutharika and Magufuli.

This is Magufuli’s first visit to Malawi since he was elected as Tanzanian president.
