YRSC sends back to school 215 girls in Machinga

Youth Response for Social Change YRSC has sent back to school 215 girls in Sub T/A Mchinguza in Machinga district.

Speaking during a sensitization campaign organized by YRSC, programs Manager of the organisation Hidjil Kalinde said the girls dropped out of school due to pregnancy and forced marriages among others.

“The bye-laws which YRSC together with traditional leaders formulated are helping to end bad practices that hinder girls from accessing education,” said Kalinde.

He therefore commended Southern Africa Aids Trust SAT for funding his organization which is implementation various interventions in Nayuchi.

Currently, YRSC is paying school fees for 100 girls who are learning at Nsanama Secondary school, Benjere secondary school, Mpiranjala CDSS and Mlomba secondary school.

The organization is implementing the big five interventions aimed at keeping girls in safe school, end early and forced marriages as well as gender based violence among others.
