Concerned citizens petition parliament over Lirangwe-Chingale road construction delay

Concerned citizens who use Lirangwe-Chingale-Machinga road have delivered a petition to parliament asking government to construct the road whose construction has been delayed for 13 years.

According to one of the concerned citizens Francis Gondwa they have been complaining about the matter to different stakeholders

“This has affected their way of life as it is hard to do businesses and access health services because cars cannot pass through the road,” Gondwa

On his part programs manager for centre for social concern Benard Mphepo said it is sad that the road is not being constructed and taken as a campaign tool

Mphepo said it is high time Malawians started separating politics from development because poverty level in Chingale is very high due to lack of good road

In his remarks Mzimba north legislature Yeremia Chihana said will deliver the petition to office of speaker so that it should be tabled in parliament
