Soldiers die in Presidential motorcade accident

One of the cars on the presidential motorcade has been involved in an accident.

The accident happened as they were escorting President Dr Lazarus Chakwera to Blantyre from Lilongwe

Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, Blantyre police deputy spokesperson, Kelvin Nyirenda confirmed the accident happened at Grace Bandawe along Magalasi road in Blantyre.

Eye witnesses said the soldiers were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital for treatment

Meanwhile, Minister of Information who is also government spokesperson Gospel Kazako announced the death of two soldiers Sherrif Maulana and Gift Kachedwa

President  cheered the injured soldiers at the same night of Monday 7 June 2021

At the inauguration of Tedzani 4 hydro-power plant Chakwera expressed sadness to the death of the two soldiers and wished the injured quick recovery
